Putting labels on plants and assorting them onto trays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to read and differentiate between plants
  • Cleaning pots and plants
  • Loading finished trays onto racks
  • Maintaining the area clean from debris
  • Checking to ensure the correct name and UPC are on the label
  • Assembling orders
  • Handling racks of plants which include pushing and pulling
  • Producing dish gardens

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers, to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The Dock 1 must regularly lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 35 pounds. The Dock 1 will push and pull both empty and loaded rolling racks up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience
No prior experience or training.

Job Description

Language Skills
Ability to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
