Account Manager


  • This position is responsible for conducting all aspects of Account Management for assigned accounts.



Marketing / Sales

  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship with Buyers and Administrative staff
  • Maintain frequent and consistent communications with Buyers
  • Create a relationship based on skill, trust and results
  • Create and execute short term and long term strategies
  • Attend all customer events – annual meetings, forums, planning meetings etc. Requires local and national travel
  • Develop strategies to grow the business in a profitable manner
  • Program / product development
  • Create and present programs, plans, strategies, costing etc.


Data Management

  • Must have strong computer competency and be proficient in Excel
  • Use company and customer data systems to deliver good financial results to the customer and company
  • Ability to process and analyze data
  • Review sales weekly for opportunities and corrections
  • Create weekly reports outlining successes and opportunities



  • Maintain in good status the vendor listing, including item maintenance, new product listings, and pricing
  • Develop production plan, communicate and schedule special programs and ads
  • Maintain ad calendar
  • Write and process corporate orders as needed to push long items, support ads and pre-book products
  • Communicate all relevant customer information to the company



  • Work directly with sales and merchandising field team if applicable
  • Measure and monitor program execution
  • Visit market and provide feedback to the company and buyers
  • Communicate corporate programs, initiatives and ads to the field


Job Functions

  • Provide feedback to production on future spreads and programs. Assist in the planning and development of new product programs
  • Communicate any critical market changes to management and provide potential solutions to issues with an implementation plan.
  • Identify means to maintain or reduce cost of sales
  • Maintain a professional and effective sales culture
